In FT/MM's Composite Chart, Mercury is semi-sextile Ascendant, but the interpretation of the semi-sextile was not available. The aspects which come closest to the semi-sextile is the sextile. However, semi-sextile is a minor aspect, and is not as benefic as the sextile.
Composite Mercury sextile Ascendant: This is a very communicative relationship in which a lot of information exchange with those around you is bound to be the order of the day. You will just naturally find people around you who easily get across what they have to say, at least in part because you are good facilitators and can help them articulate their messages. Although you value a good conversation, and will usually have channels open to each other, you don't talk just to hear yourselves, and when you say something it doesn't need to be repeated. In any profession that requires clear communication, such as the media, public relations, all forms of writing and public speaking, this aspect will give you a definite edge. You won't have to waste your time worrying and double-checking to see if you are getting across. While this is an advantage, it can be taken for granted as well, so run an occasional diagnostic reality check now and again to see if what you are saying is what they are hearing. Your best communication will be that you can do in person together, because it is the presence of the two of you in the same room that most reinforces this aspect, and much of the effect may be lost over the phone or on paper. It has to do with your natural ability to think on your feet when you're around each other, where each senses what to fill in or the other and when to hand off a point to whomever will deliver it with the most impact.
